Today’s Grove City Ohio Wine and Arts Festival http://www.grovecitytowncenter.org/wine-and-arts-festival/ is a prime example of why Grove City is an amazing town to live! Grove City is a community that embraces a small town feel. My husband and I grabbed some award winning chicken salad at the locally owned Lilly’s Kitchen Table http://www.lillyskitchentable.com before heading out to sample some of the many Ohio Wines from Wineries across the state. We started with Grove City’s own Plum Run Winery http://www.plumrunwinery.com .
We met David Crosby who educated us on his winery and his newest addition of Grove City Brewing Company located in the heart of Grove City at 3946 Broadway
http://www.grovecitybrewingcompany.com. We were so excited to learn that his Winery and new Brewery has an outdoor patio to soak in the summer breeze while sipping on local wines and brews. We were tempted to leave the festival and hang out on the patio since my dear husband prefers beer over wine any day of the week! A second favorite winery that is just a short drive from Grove City was Rockside Winery and Vineyards in Lancaster, Ohio. http://www.rocksidevineyards.com Again, this winery scored high marks with my husband when the lady educating us on the wine and the facility stated “We have local craft beer tasting, by the glass, and in growlers and Saturday nights have live local music at the winery!” I jokingly reminded him that today is Saturday! Hum…. I wonder where we will be tonight!
Ok, I know what your thinking…. what about the arts? Of course, the art exhibitors were strategically located amongst the many wineries so one could easily sip on wine and shop! What a fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon in Grove City, Ohio! After admiring the many mediums of art and meeting some extremely talented artists I had to splurge on some hand painted stemless wine glasses designed and created by Renee Obrock http://www.facebook.com/verre-behker-566807586761091/ Check out these beautiful daisies!
I had to add the Grove City Wine tasting glass with this picture! After all it was attached to my hand for the afternoon and made The Ohio Wine and Arts Festival event a memorable afternoon. This is one of many reasons it is fun living in Grove City, Ohio! Come visit us or hey…. maybe consider moving in to our neck of the woods!
